Artist Spotlight 003 - Miliboo

Artist Spotlight 003 - Miliboo

Welcome to the third edition of Artist Spotlight. Today we are highlighting a photographer, and everyone’s favorite ghost Milibooo. Booo is a photographer who transforms her encounters into intimate visual stories. Using her lens to reveal the hidden emotional worlds of strangers. Through empathy and imagination, she turns everyday faces into soulful narratives. So let's get to it (SI = Sage Inks, BOOO = Milibooo)

SVS:

What is your name? (also your artist handle?)

BOOO:
My name is Mili. My handle is @Milibooo, but most people here call me Booo.

SVS:
When did you first get into art?

BOOO:

If we’re talking photography, it’s been about seven and a half years now. Before that, I was working as a photography stylist, which is really where my relationship with visual storytelling first began.

SVS:

What was the catalyst or moment that pushed you to take it seriously?

BOOO:

It was when I entered the NFT space and realised that what I was creating was actually real, valued, and seen. That moment made me take my work seriously in a completely different way.

SVS:

How would you define your art style (in your own words)?

BOOO:

This:

“We cross paths with so many people everyday . We see their faces but do not know their story . Through my pictures , I try to tell a tale of their life and bring them to life. I call them fables of the soul .”

SVS:

Wow that is a really deep quote! I love it, and thank you for sharing that! I see that this is something that you feel so passionate about. So how did you discover NFTs, and what made you decide to participate in the space?

BOOO:

I discovered NFTs through my partner , I’d watch him spend hours deep in the space & gently try to pull me in. At first, I was very reluctant. I wasn’t ready to commit the time or give up my very social life. But one day I said f it, jumped in, & decided to give it a go. I haven’t looked back since, & the rest is history.

SVS:

What platform(s) do you primarily use, and why?

BOOO:

It wasn’t an easy switch from X to FC, but it had to be done . After two years, X started to feel draining, while FC felt fresh, warm, & genuinely welcoming. The community here leads with so much heart, there’s always something happening, & over time it’s really started to feel like home.

SVS:

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned as an artist so far?

BOOO:

That one’s easy. Create for yourself first. Mess up, learn from it & keep going. Believe in you, trust your instincts & most importantly, actually enjoy what you’re doing.

SVS:

That is solid and something that I am still working on so thanks for saying that! What advice would you give to artists who are curious about NFTs but hesitant to jump in?

BOOO:

You don’t need to have it all figured out. The space opens up once you show up . Sometimes all it takes is giving yourself permission to try. So jump in, explore, learn as you go, and trust yourself.

SVS:

Just for fun! What kind of music do you listen to? (pick one genre) And is it the same genre while you are creating

BOOO:

When I’m creating or editing , it’s usually something I can rap along to or scream to in frustration through the “why is this not working “ moments .

My music taste is all over the place -  one minute it’s EDM, the next it’s deep house, then pop, and suddenly I’m deep into some recent world music.

Thanks so much Booo for taking time to talk with me. If you don’t know now you know. It is amazing how she is crafting images that feel less like photographs and more like quiet, human fables. Check out Milibooo’s work at the link below! Give her a follow on Farcaster
